This door, part of the North Porch of St Edward’s Church in Stow-On-The-Wold, was built around 300 years ago with yew trees planted on either side to enhance its entrance. It is said to be the inspiration behind the ‘Doors of Durin’ from J.R.R Tolkien’s "Lord of the Rings.".

The photo was taken late afternoon in autumn; I had to dodge showers to get the shot. I love how the yew trees seemed to form their own pillars for the door, creating an enchanting natural frame.
